He said the time is ripe for the Bentley’s building to be redeveloped, thanks to a bucket of incentives available under the one-year-old community improvement plan for the downtown as well as very low vacancy rates. So selling the building is a “good exciting step” for the area, said Bortolin, who represents the downtown. It’s located on a stretch of Ouellette Avenue just south of Wyandotte Street that was recently beautified by $6 million in streetscaping. Bentley’s club on Ouellette Avenue, just north of Elliott Street, is shown during better times when it was still open in April 2005. The commercially-zoned property is being sold in “as-is” condition. The 12,000-square-foot building is basically a shell. ![]() The asking price will be determined after an independent appraisal.
